What you can do

Chats, calls and pages

A code connects you — to chat privately, to call, or to reach someone's page. Open a page to see what its owner shared and reach them from there, or make your own so people can reach you the same way.

No account, to begin with

Type anything as a name and you are in. There is no e-mail address, no phone number, no password and no verification step — and because there is nothing to verify, there is nothing to look you up by afterwards.

Messages do not linger on the server

By default, a message that has not reached your device yet is deleted from the server after 24 hours; each person chooses a shorter or longer time for their own conversations, and a message is removed as soon as your device has received it. Your account has no end date and does not count down: it stays until you delete it — or, without a Main Code, until you log out. An account that is not opened for about sixty days may be deleted automatically, after a warning where notifications are on.

Keep it, if you want it

You can secure the account with a Main Code — a long code shown once, which you keep. It is the only way back in. There is no reset, because there is no e-mail address to send one to.

Only people you invite

There is no directory and no search. You share a one-time invitation, or a Contact Code you can turn off again, and only somebody holding one can reach you.

Encrypted on your device

Messages, files and calls are encrypted before they leave your device and decrypted on the other one. The server stores what it cannot read: there is no master key, no escrow and no recovery copy, so what is already stored cannot be opened by us or handed to anyone else.
